Fashion & Freedom

Responding to Manchester Art Gallery’s Fashion & Freedom exhibition, I explored the changing roles of women during the First World War.

I used paper to create strong geometric forms, transforming a seemingly fragile material into a structured sculpture. This contrast between fragility and strength became a way to consider changing perceptions of women’s roles in society.

The work was shown at a special evening event at the gallery, contributing my own material response to the exhibition’s exploration of women’s identities and experiences.
